For many, a telemedicine visit can be a great way to get the care you need without a trip in to the doctor’s office. This is often especially helpful for those who live a long ways away but still want access to a better kind of healthcare.
Technology requirements
You need a decent connection to the internet that will support video communication (think FaceTime or Skype), and a device that supports video communication (most modern computers, tablets, and smartphones).
Insurance coverage
If you have a commercial or other non-governmental insurance plan, we can usually get it covered. Oregon has laws that require insurers to cover telemedicine like they cover office visits.
If you have Medicare or other governmental insurance, this has become a covered service since the start of the covid pandemic. We hope this element of modern healthcare will continue after temporary coverage expires.
We will continue to push the system to let us make better care more available to you our patients!
